Meet Fig & Magnolia
Something new is growing at E. L. Wells Children’s Books!
Meet Magnolia, a sweet and curious little white hen with a gentle spirit and a way of finding wonder in the simplest things.
And then there’s Fig the Rooster—bold, brave, full of personality...and maybe just a little bit bossy! Fig certainly has no trouble making sure everyone knows when he has something to say. 😉
These two new characters are currently being developed for future stories, and I’m having so much fun watching their personalities come to life.
Magnolia and Fig are only the beginning. There are more stories—and more new friends—on the way! 🌼🐔🐓📚
Stay tuned for more from the growing world of E. L. Wells Children’s Books. ❤️
Sharing My Creative Process
I had the wonderful opportunity to speak about how I create my children's books and illustrations from the first spark of an idea to the moment a character comes alive on the page.
Every story begins with something simple: a feeling, a memory, or a moment that deserves to be seen through a child's eyes. From there, I sketch, refine, and let the illustrations carry the heart of the story.
Whether it's Pepe discovering courage at Amici's Italian Bistro or Bonnie celebrating a birthday with her friends at Lillie Valley Farm, I love creating stories that inspire kindness, friendship, and perseverance. Talking about this process reminded me how much joy there is in building worlds that feel both familiar and full of wonder.
